Man remanded over allegedly theft goods values N6m

The Magistrates' Court in Ile-Ife, on Monday remanded a 35-year-old man, Ikechukwu Nkwuda, over allegedly theft goods worth N6 million.

The Prosecutor, Insp. Sunday Osanyintuyi, told the court that the defendant committed the offence between June 2023 and Nov. 2024 at No 1. Aderemi Road, Lagere, Ile-Ife.

Osanyintuyi said that the defendant entered into the shop of one Okoro Frank with intent to commit felony therein.

He added that the defendant stole power banks, charges and MP3 Bluetooth (2), JBI players, total valued N6 million, property  of one Okoro Frank.

According to him, the offence contravened sections 383(3), 390(9) and 413 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.

The Defendant,who was not legally represented, however, pleaded not guilty to two-count charge of entering and stealing.

Magistrate Abosede Sarumi, asked for formal bail application and ordered for the remand of the defendant in Ile-Ife Nigerian Correctional Service.


Sarumi adjourned the case until Feb 12, for mention.
