Gov. of Osun State, Sen Ademola Adeleke, has commissioned a newly constructed 0.0025km road in Ile-Ife


The Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has commissioned a newly constructed 0.0025km road in Ile-Ife, courtesy of a generous donation from Mr. Ebenezer Fashogbon.

The governor, who was represented by his Commissioner for Education, Hon. Adedipo Eluwole, praised Fashogbon's philanthropic gesture and emphasized the significance of community development in the state.

Adeleke highlighted his administration's commitment to progress and development, citing the ongoing flyover project in Ile-Ife, which has been extended to Ojafe side with streetlights. 

He encouraged others to emulate Fashogbon's example and contribute to the development of their communities.

"This type of personal development should continue to complement the government's efforts to disseminate good life for our people."Gov. Stated.

Also, Sen. Babajide Omoworare, Former Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on National Assembly Matters, spoke at the commissioning ceremony.

Omoworare emphasized the need for collective effort in developing communities, stating that "a tree cannot make a forest, likewise, the government alone cannot satisfy Nigerians, but we need to contribute in our own little way."

He thanked Fashogbon's contribution, saying it would greatly benefit the community.

 "Our people who are using vehicles and motorcycles will now ply the road conveniently, and their cars will not get damaged consistently, for it'll reducr the cost of expenses on their vehicles." Sen. Emphasised.

The donor, Mr. Ebenezer Fashogbon, expressed gratitude to God and commended the landlord and landlady, Obalufe of Ifeland, Sen. Babajide Omoworare, and other dignitaries present.

He praised his wife, Mrs. Ndidi Fashogbon, for encouraging him to build a house in his hometown and construct the road project for everyone to enjoy.

Fashogbon, an Australian-based philanthropist, pledged to encourage others in the diaspora to return home and contribute to the development of their communities.

In the same vein, the Obalufe of Ifeland, Oba Idowu Adediwura, applauded Fashogbon's kind gesture.

Obalufe called on other citizens in the diaspora to emulate his example in assisting the government and traditional leaders to ensure that their people enjoy the benefits of development.

Additionally, the engineer who constructed the road, Engr. Olawale Atoyebi, guaranteed the road's durability, stating that all materials used met specifications and were of 100% quality. 

The facilitator of the road project, Barr. Rotimi Adeyenuwo, thanked God, the donor, and Ife indigene for the successful completion of the project.

Adeyenuwo encouraged individuals, groups, stakeholders, and philanthropists in Nigeria and overseas to support the growth and development of their communities.


He citing Fashogbon's example as a testament to the impact one person can make. Despite being away from Nigeria for 34 years, adding that Fashogbon returned home to make a significant contribution to his community, thanks to the encouragement of his wife.
