The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja 11, has pleaded with Nigerians to exercise patients with President Bola Tinubu's administration while fixing national economy.
Ooni made the appeal while addressing Pressmen on his way to seclusion in preparation for Olojo festival, on Sunday, in Ile-Ife.
He gave thank to Almighty God, the Creator of the Universe, the King of Kings that gave him the privilege to observe this year seclusion.
According to him, seclusion is the most sacred moment for him on the throne which he utilised to pray for continuity of unity of the country last.
"This time around, I want to pray and seek for the face of our Creator to intervene on the current economy situation.
"Things are very tough and people are feeling the hardship, I want to pray for all and sundry especially youths to exercise patients so that we'll not used our hands to destroy our country". He said.
The monarch admitted that Nigeria is currently at its trial period when the citizens are facing a lot of challenges in all ramifications of life.
“I know that people are passing through difficult periods in which they are not finding life easy and truly this is a challenging period.
“But I know that after this festival, normalcy will return to the country, as the problems we’re facing will soon come to an end,” he stated.
The Traditional Ruler emphasised that
the sacred moment for him is to appeal to the conscience of the political leaders to be sensitive.
Ooni called leaders to yield to the cry of the common man, saying that the patient of the common man has a limit.
Oba Ogunwusi stressed that leaders shouldn't push the common man to the limit, but be very sensitive to their needs.
assure that this period will not last forever.
He urged this present government to do more to serve the populace by reciprocate dividend of democracy for them, for citizenry have devoted their lives in serving the leaders.
"Our President should focus on how things will be better in the nation, urged masses to be patients and endure so as to avoid anarchy.
"I'll continue prayer for peaceful coexistence of the nation". Ooni insisted.
The royal father admonished all and sundry to endure more and ensure their support for their leaders, saying by doing this, there would be great achievements.
