The Federal Ministry of Health, has appointed Prof Lateef Salawu, the Professor of Haematology, as new Acting Chief Medical Director(CMD), Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Complex(OAUTHC), Ile-Ife.
Engr Funso Adeniyi, The Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Health, did the appointment on Monday, at Teaching Hospital, Ile-Ife.
"The meeting took us almost 7 hours before we could resolved the crisis, but thank God that we eventually settled the matter.
"The stakeholders of hospital were present, while the two acting Chief Medical Director(CMD), Dr Afolabi Owojuyigbe, former Acting CMD and Prof Olayinka Adegbehingbe, were not excluded.
"All crisis is resolved, while OAUTHC is back to it's stand, all faction issues had also resolved".he stated.
The Permanent Secretary promised that all protocol would be duely observed in the processes for appointment of substantive Chief Medical Director,which would started in earnest.
He said that the appointment of new CMD takes effect immediately, as he would act for a maximum of six-month.
