Sallah: Exercise Patient with FG on fuel subsidy Removal - Former Comm advises


The Former Commissiner for Home Affairs, Culture and Tourism, Hon Sikiru Ayedun, has appealed to Nigerians to exercise patients with the new administration on fuel subsidy removal.

Ayedun made the appeal during an interview with Pressmen after Sallah Uthubar in his House at Oranfe Area, Ile-Ife.

He commended President Bola Tinubu for taking the courageous step in removing fuel subsidy in which other Presidents had tried, but cannot succeed on it.

"Though, it has not been so easy for the citizenry, but this is the high time to do the needful, for few set of people are enjoying the subsidy at the detriments of generality.

"Therefore, let's ensure and support the present administration, for the end would justify the means". He said.

The Ex-Commissioner urged the President to ensure that anything gather from the subsidy removal should use for infrastructure, healthcare delivery, standard education, permanent appointment,for indigenes to enjoy the dividends of democracy as promised.

According to him, for the past 12 years, 2023 Sallah was celebrated without bomb blast and attack at worship centres, thanked Allah and present government for restoring peaceful coexistence nationally and globally.

He charged all and sundry to ensure that they follows the tenets of Islam and fulfill all promises as at when due.

One of the Worshipers, Mr Surajudeen Ajilesoro, implored all Muslim faithful to emulate Prophet Ibrahim in paying their vow as pledged and to show love to humanity, endure and persevere in all ramifications.

Also, Honourable representing Ife East House of Assembly, the Prince Saheed Fatunmise, charged everyone to love and maintain unity for them to live together in peace and harmony.
