The Public Relations Officer (PRO), Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Mr Abiodun Olarenwaju, has said that the mother of 100 level student from department of Entrepreneurship who committed suicide confessed the depression of her daughter which led to her death.
Olanrewaju said that the deceased travelled from Lagos to the school whereby the mother confirmed that she has depression that's why she decided to stayed with her for 10 days.
The Public Relations Officer stated further that the late student told her mother that she was going for examination, unfortunately found her dead by commiting suicide.
Accordingly, her body, Salako Treasure was found in an uncompleted building on Wednesday, at Lagere after she went missing.
According to information gathered, a bottle of sniper was found by her side, which suggested that she might have committed suicide.
However, it is unclear if the student actually took her life willingly or a planned assassination making it to look like a suicide.
But past record suggest that Miss Treasure have been showing some symptoms of depression which might possibly led to her sad decision to end it all.
Spokesman of the university described the situation as “an apparent suicide."
